Last Saturday, I visited The Society of Four Arts’ new Fitz Eugene Dixon Education Building in Palm Beach. It was a beautiful day, and it helped bring in more than 600 people. Friendly staff were at hand to greet and assist with directions.
Beautiful centerpieces at the lobby’s welcome booth
The Chinese-themed at the Four Art Hall was used for Thursday’s night donor dinner.
Computer room; They also have iphone and ipad courses.
My wife, Lina, also enjoyed the Flower arranging workshop with Instructor John Klingel, the director of the South Florida Center for Floral Studies.
Food and drinks were also served at the courtyard.
Please call The Society of Four Arts at 561-805-8562 if you are interested in enrolling in one of their programs.
LA will be buzzing with Hollywood’s annual red carpet for celebrities. Whether you are a fashion icon or just a fan of fine clothing couture, you don’t want to miss out on this year’s Oscar night. I’ve only seen a few movies this year, so I may be biased with my choices. However, this place setting is for anybody who would love to have their own Oscar-Themed setting for the evening. How would you like to have your own red carpet VIP table? Whoever you are rooting for, I am sure you will have a lovely time with family or friends with this beautiful setting. Good luck to all the nominees.
Congratulations to all the winners!!

A few weeks ago I visited my friend Jacqueline Whitmore, who is an internationally renowned etiquette expert and author. She is an in-demand public speaking professional as well. In fact, I first met Jacqueline when she spoke about business etiquette at a meeting of the Domestic Estate Managers Association (DEMA) that I attended. Lucky for me, she lives fairly close by here in Palm Beach.
We met for tea time at her home. As you can see, her tea set is absolutely beautiful! And the plates was from her mother’s antique Royal Doulton. I brought my wife’s delicious cupcakes to share. My wife is a wonderful cook and baker! Her cupcakes and cakes are always beautiful as well as mouth-watering. She made both strawberry and chocolate with marshmallow for the occasion, and Jacqueline and I wound up enjoying the chocolate ones.
I was slightly nervous before my arrival, but she is such a warm and friendly person that I forget my fears as soon as I am around her. She was very interested in my new book and asked several questions. I am incredibly excited about its upcoming release, so I had no problem discussing it with her!
Speaking of books, I also brought along two copies of Jacqueline’s book Poised for Success: Mastering the Four Qualities That Distinguish Outstanding Professional. She was kind enough to autograph one for me and the other for my daughter, who is currently a college student majoring in business and engineering . As you may have guessed from the napkin fold in the background, I took these photographs in my home.
I highly recommend Poised for Success for businesspeople as well as anyone who wants to learn helpful tips and tricks on how to be more courteous and improve their behavior. She is an expert in her field as well as a kind and generous person.

I was in New Orleans last year and for the first time, I tried Shrimp and Grits and loved it. A few days ago while on Facebook, I came to Danielle Rollins’s page and saw a recipe for Grits Soufflé. I thought that was interesting. I’ve had cheese soufflé but never a grits soufflé, so I decided to give it a try. The result was delicious and flavorful. Here’s a link to her facebook page for the free recipe. http://www.facebook.com/DanielleDRollins Also, check out her book, “Soiree Entertaining with Style.”
