Go Back to School in Style
Fall is here, and you know what that means! Not only is the weather getting cooler and the leaves changing colors, the kids are back in school. Making a special meal for your children is an easy way to celebrate the fact that they’ve successfully started another school year, and a decorative table setting will definitely help them go back to school in style.
If you like arts and crafts as much as I do, then a fabric plate is a fun do-it-yourself project to try. I recently made a school days-themed fabric plate and as you can see from the photo, it turned out great—if I do say so myself! I even had enough fabric left over to make a matching napkin, which I labeled with a place card. If you have some crayons and glue to spare, the small vase decorated with crayons also added an extra bit of appeal to the table setting.
You’ve probably heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and a hearty breakfast of waffles or pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, and fruit is enough to make anyone go to school happy. Serving the meal on a beautiful back to school plate is just the icing on the cake! You can also make a fabric plate for any other special occasion, as long as you can find fabric that meets your needs. I’m sure that a quick trip to the sewing store will give you plenty of ideas.
